Scriptural ways by which worship can be expressed
Singing "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16 - Eph. 5:19 - Hebrews 2:12 - Acts 16:25,26
Loud Praise "But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them; let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee." Hebrews 13:15 - Romans 15:6 - Isaiah 44:24 - Psalms 5:11;67:3;142:7
Lifting of Hands "Behold, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD." I timothy 2:8 - Psalms 134:1,2;28:2;63:4;141:2
Clapping of Hands "O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." Isaiah 55:12 - Psalms28:2
Dancing "Let them praise His name in the dance; let them sing praises unto Him with a timbrel and harp." II Sam.6:14 - Exodus 15:20
Standing-Bowing-Prostrating "O come let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our maker."
Psalms 95:6;135:2;134:1 - II Chronicles 6:13 - Daniel 6:10
Speaking, Translation and Praise in Tongues "For if I pray in tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the result then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding." (I Corinthians 14:14,15)
"Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues." (I Corinthians 14:39)
"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, of another the interpretation of tongues." (I Corinthians 12:7,10)
Prophesy "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy." (I Corinthians 14:1)
But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men." (I Corinthians 14:3)
Why do we have this type of Worship?
"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." (John 4:23,24)
